Waiopae Tidepools

Hi this is Karlie! We recently went to the Waiopae tidepools, also known as Kapoho Tidepools. We saw...eels, corals, angel fish, saddle wrasse, bluespine unicorn fish, sharpnose mullet, grouper peacock, moorish idol fish, gregory fish, file fish, dascyyullus fish, cornet fish, coris fish, butterfly fish, and needlefish. We had fun! It was lava rock on the top and mostly coral on the bottom. I went with my Dad, Kate, Enoch, Eli and our friend Maq. We saw a sea urchin that was 6-7 inches long. It was a sunny day and the water was warm.  UPDATE: Since this blog post was written, this entire area has been wiped out by lava and no longer exists.  We are so grateful we go to enjoy it while we were there.  It was such a beautiful place!
